Throughout the past spring break, i've learned a lot. I've learned that people shouldn't take things for granted. Everyone always says that but they never really go by their own statements. People still tend to take advantage of things and not understand that nothing is eternal. Life is so precious and people should really stop complaining. They don't understand how easy they get it. People think their lives are so complicated and complain for the worst reasons. "Oh its so hard to study for a test or walk the dog or wash the dishes" but they really don't know how easy it is. Stop complaining and be with the people you love because you never know when they will leave your life. People should start appreciating what they have
For approximately 5/6 months, my mother has been battling Lymphoma. this past Spring break it got worse. She was on respiratory resort and passed away on Thursday, April 10. She was only 43 , and she was gone from mine and my families lives but with her passing I've learned a lot , many showed up for her knowing the type of person she was and the mark she made on so many peoples lives. It has showed that make your life worth something whether you touched 100 people or even one, you have done something. This has taught me that life is short and you should appreciate It for what it is and take it as it comes because you don't know when its going to be your last day. So appreciate what you have don't complain about litttle things, do what your parents ask and just know you only have one life . So live it up to the fullest.

How music changes lives.......
Music has had an affect on everyone throughout their lives and has a huge affect on our country's history as well. for example during the raoring 20's in the United States, Jazz music gave an inspiration to the people of Harlem and gave a different look on life. Music brought back joy and confidence in the country after world war one. It also has a huge affect on lives of teenagers today. I know many people who when are down listen to music to cheer them up, to get everything out of the way, to clear their minds. On the other hand there are those who listen to music to pump them up before the "big game" or just when they have fun.
Music also has had an affect on my life, it gives me something to do when I'm bored as well as pumping me up before I play any sport. It takes allows me to be tuned out from the rest of the world and lets me feel worry free. Some ones music , what they have on their ipods, their mp3s or on their computers describes the person they are. Music to some are anti-drugs , and without it our youth might have more who do drugs , who turn to violence instead of expressing their emotions in a calm conservative way.

Frida Kahlo
"Frida" in my opinion was a great movie. At first I was very skeptical about how much i would enjoy it but as the movie progressed i was really hooked and interested in what was going to happen next. The movie is a about a women names Frida who is not your average women. She shows masculinity along with her feminine side and is not your typical artist. she gets into a fatal car accident and afterwards he mother passes away and has to work in order to provide for herself. it showed her independence and how different she was from the other women.
Frida's art was incredible and it was incredible beacuse it was so different from the art at the time. It was somewhat depressing and thats what made it special and all her work had meaning to it. If i had to rate this movie on a scale from 1-10 i would give it a 9. It was able to keep me interested and had a great story line and taught me about one of the greatest artist of her time. i recommend everyone to watch it because you can learn from it and i would watch it again without any hesitation.

preventing unwanted "friends".....
The virus known as aids and HIV is infecting many and especially the youth of out nation more and more. It has become an epidemic and is going down due to awareness and many organizations speaking out in the favor of having safe sex. Not only does it prevent disease it also prevents unexpected pregnancy. It is 99.9% affective and is the best way to go if you choose to have premerital sex. it is a proven fact taht by the age of 25 1 out of every 3 adults who are sexually active have an STD or a sexually transmitted disease. Just recently on the show the real world on MTV they promoted a movie called "Pedro". This movie was about the first gay male who was HIV positive on television and shows how he made a difference by speaking out and continuing to be on the show. It promots safe sex and always to use a condom to be safe. This does not only apply to the Gay community but it applys to society as a whole. When you speak up about safe sex and you reach one person, that person can reach another and another and it can become a chain reaction. Before you can help anyone you have to apply this to yourself and the people around you. We can all make a difference , make the right choice, use protection everytime.

Teen pressures.....
Peer pressure has always been around to affect our society. Many of our major problems such as alchohol, drug, and violence can be seen to have a relationship with peer pressure. If a person is strong enough and has his/her own brain, he can basically overcome any pressure that he/she is facing. Even though, peer pressure is in every society, sometimes people feel it's about experience and sometimes it is, but experience doesn't mean you have to go out and party till you pass out. I think that many girls and boys think it is "cool" to drink, smoke weed, abuse all those factors but when it comes down to it, all teenagers are simply killing themselves. Maybe not literally killing themselves but come closer to the dead end of life opportunities and everything their lives represented.

slum dog millionare? more like slum dog multi oscar winner...
last night at the 81st annual academy awards, the movie "Slum dog millionare" won 8 academy awards including the best picture beating out "the curious case of Benjamin Button" which stared Brad Pitt and Danny Boyle also won for best director (slumdog millionare). The movie is about an 18 yr old teenage who lives in the slums and goes on the indian version of who wants to be a millionare. He is one question away from winning the 20 million rupee grand prize when the show ends for the night , he is arrested in suspicion of cheating because how can a boy from the street have so much knowledge? He is on a adventurous journey with his younger brother in which he loses his love and shows the slums in which he grew up. Personally I haven't seen this movie but based on the amount of awards won at the highest level of honor , the oscars, has given me a feeling of needing to watch it and see what millions of others saw , experienced and have loved so much from this film. I urge everyone to go and watch it just as so many others did.

new color in the white house...
Our new president Barrack Obama is the first African-American man to ever hold that title. It is a symbol for change and how developed and different our government and culture can be. It shows how well we adapt and accept change. It has had a huge impact on our country as well as the rest of the world. it has even impacted our music by having artist such as jay-z and young jeezy rap about how their president is black. In my opinion , this is the base for the change we need in our country. I believe he will be just the person we need to put our country on top of the list in every category, especially our economy.
